Anne and I count ourselves real blessed to have the opportunity to photo shoot many wonderful families across Metro Vancouver. We have met many great people who always told us how fun it was to be in our photo shoots.

The irony of it all is we pretty much hardly go the length for ourselves. We are are guilty of just ‘point and shoot‘ when it comes to our own family. It’s as if we just shut down and go into a blah-mode when we take pictures for ourselves. And that’s a real shame because you see, it was with the birth of Charis that we became inspired to freeze beautiful moments of life with still photography. The same inspiration that led us to where we are now.

So we thought….  “Hey! It’s our turn this time! We want pretty pictures of our family too!”.

With that we set forth on a spring afternoon with the kids and grandparents to visit a couple of local parks. You know what’s great apart from taking some great photos of ourselves, it was time spent together as a family doing fun things that made it so wonderful. And that’s exactly what our clients been telling us! Huh!

When we’re out on an epic walk such as this, Charis takes on the Dora the Explorer mode. She is almost as tall as Anne. Shh….

 

It’s great to have the grandparents along so that they can watch the kiddies while we hide behind them and do pre-mommy daddy stuff.

 

We like to teach our kids to first walk on tables before graduating to the floor. Better for the backs.

We didn’t bring bread. So we fed the ducks with pretty expensive premium cheesy fish crackers.

Turns out that we’re not supposed to feed the ducks. Doh!

The quintessential family outing. Mommy playing with toddler, grandpa playing with older sister while grandma does what grandma does best – watch the stuff.

So there you go. We always feel that the best family images are those that somehow enable its audience to come away feeling they got to know the people inside the photos a bit better.
