The Balbagos certainly take the crown when it comes to the length of time from first contact to the photoshoot itself. You see we connected sometime back in 2012 for a family portrait shoot. But due to schedules and weather, or maybe the stars and moons didn’t align we never manage to meet up! So it wasn’t until one-year later that we finally MADE IT HAPPENED! =)
We took the city slicker family to rural Derby Reach in Langley for some family photography. And what a blast we had with the Balbago family. So without further ado, here are some of our favourites! One year in the making…..Show me more please!»
Alright gang! Get ready for image explosion!!! Here’s one of our Connections 2013 photoshoot. One of the great things about photographing abroad is discovering all these new cool places. Well back in Vancouver, we have the Stanley Park. Here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia it is the KL Lake Gardens! We absolutely love the majestic tropical trees in this city park.
It was a ball photographing this expat family. Timing was impeccable as Sadie, Kahjin and Belle were “in-between countries” when we were in Malaysia. A couple of emails later we were whisked off to this beautiful part of KL to photograph their family dynamics.Show me more please!»
Hi everyone! Here’s our first segment on our international photoshoot tour!
Singapore! It has been many many years since we visited this island city state. The awesome metropolis has always been a super star city in the region. Our short stay here affirms that! With a total land mass smaller than Metro Vancouver, Singapore is quite compact. However we didn’t once felt cramped nor congested. Everything’s so organized and efficient. Even down to the arrival of the city bus and taxi cabs! Anytime describing Singapore without experiencing the local cuisine is sin! And to that end, Singapore doesn’t disappoint! Thanks to being the melting pot of all cultures throughout history, Singapore like its neighboring country Malaysia enjoys a diverse blend of ethnic yummies.
There are a ton of locales acting as great backdrop. For the Yong family, we mixed old world architecture with a bit of urban space into our portrait shoot. So we met-up with the quartet by the historic Fullerton Bay area.Show me more please!»
Over the years, we have had the great pleasure of photographing some of the most wonderful family portraits in Vancouver area! We just love standing back and enjoy watching the beautiful interaction of the dads with their children! Despite what the media like to portray father’s on the TV, men around the world are doing an incredible job being involved with their kids. Men who despite a hectic work life would carve out time to surround their children with the love they so deserve!
We at Veritas-Images.com thank you for getting into the shoots, tossing your girl, letting your son grab your hair (or other parts), jumping on your brand new convertible and those piggy rides!!!
To the Dada, Papa, Daddy, Pappi, Lou-Tou Baba, Vater…. Happy Father’s Day!
When we first thought of this idea of bringing our fresh take on portrait photography half way across the globe, we didn’t know what to expect. Kinda like jumping into the “deep end and see what happens” approach. Sometimes it is the best way to learn. And learn we did! Anne and I learned that there is a pent-up demand for modern natural portraiture that is authentic and relational.
So we’re back from an incredible experience photographing various families in Malaysia and Singapore. We were all over the cities on this photoshoot project. From the historic colonial district of Fullerton Bay area to the tranquil natural settings of KL’s Lake Gardens. We got escorted aroound at the uber-cool Mont Kiara neighbourhoods to frolicking about in the cool uplands of Genting. We even got to shoot at a Peranakan District of Emerald Hill in Singapore. Locations that foreign visitors would not normally visit. But it was the wonderful friendships that we made during the project that was the true highlight.
As usual we will be posting more of our Connections 2013 works in the near future along with the rest of the regular photoshoots! Stay tuned!
