We met Adrian and Julia when there were only two of them! Then Nat Nat came along. Cool! Later Jayden joined the party. And Josiah made five. We have had the pleasure to photograph this little boy back in 2011. What was once a sleepy quiet little infant is now a hyperactive boy running around exploring everything at Queens Park in New Westminster. “Wait! Come back Jo Jo! Wait!”

Tempus Fugit – Time Flies. And it sure did for us!
The velocity of 2012 has caught us by surprise considering our initial shoot started in the Spring. Then it all went warp speed through to end of the year. Arghh!!! And here we are already! The photo-shoots have brought us to many cool locations in the Vancouver region. This year took us to gorgeous coastal parklands in Burnaby, quaint farms in Maple Ridge and Langley, White Rock’s beaches and many others including an urban studio shoot in a concrete basement! But through it all, Anne and I have had the greatest pleasure to meet and connect with some really wonderful people.
Reflecting back this amazing year the one word that stood out is – relationships. When we first set out in our portrait business we always believe that images need to be authentic and relate-able. Our vision is to document relationships through our photography. Our Storybook Collection augments that vision in the form of fine-art albums. I supposed we must be doing something right as our storytelling photography work has been noticed by a major professional print house in the US!
We want to thank you for your support and encouragements. Anne and I truly appreciate you because you stood with us when we first birth Veritas Images and are still with us we continue to grow. Most of all we thank you for believing in our work. So without further ado as it was with last year, here are some highlights of 2012! Or you can visit the full HD version!
Thank You & God Bless,
Alwin & Anne
Anne and I count ourselves real blessed to have the opportunity to photo shoot many wonderful families across Metro Vancouver. We have met many great people who always told us how fun it was to be in our photo shoots.
The irony of it all is we pretty much hardly go the length for ourselves. We are are guilty of just ‘point and shoot‘ when it comes to our own family. It’s as if we just shut down and go into a blah-mode when we take pictures for ourselves. And that’s a real shame because you see, it was with the birth of Charis that we became inspired to freeze beautiful moments of life with still photography. The same inspiration that led us to where we are now.
So we thought…. “Hey! It’s our turn this time! We want pretty pictures of our family too!”.Show me more please!»
“Hey I know you!” screamed little Austin.
“You’re the guy that threw leaves at us!” he said as he ran towards me.
The boys Austin and Tyson (also known candidly as Mild and Wild) came bounding towards me excitedly when I dropped by a few weeks after the family photoshoot. So that’s how they remembered Anne and I….as the folks that played leaves with them at the park. That’s pretty neat. Because we had fun too!

It’s amazing that every visit to the Best-McGettigans is always an event. It’s an experience…. a visceral thrill. Lots of energy in the house. While Dan is pretty laid back, Gina is always on the go with multiple things happening! You see, she is Gina Best of “Gina Knows Best“, co-owner for one of Vancouver’s forefront mortgage brokerage.
…and then we have Max and Foxie girl the two now-what-are-they-up-to-next pugs.
Gina passed me some candies and lollipops right before we start the shoot. “You’re gonna need it if you want good pictures….trust me.”
Great…. just great.Show me more please!»
Just got back from perhaps one of our most epic Fall shoot this year. This time of the year, Queen’s Park in New Westminster is just gorgeous! Unfortunately we’re on a ‘media blackout‘ but here’s an approved teaser…
