This is a tale of a long distance love story. Jessie and Yang are newly engaged couple. Yang is here completing his Computer Science major at Simon Fraser University when Jessie came to visit. Both of them love Vancouver and its pristine landscape very much. Prior to Jessie returning home to Suzhou, China, they approached us to photograph their engagement session. After much discussion, we all felt it would be real cool to shoot in locations that they can identify with. Photographs that reminded them of their time in Vancouver years from now.
Well we hit the high grounds of SFU located on Burnaby Mountain for their engagement photos. Yang and Jessie led us around the campus to show us places where they usually hang out. Then we dove down to sea level for some sunset beach photography at the Barnet Marine Park. Here are some highlights!

A few moons ago we covered the wedding of Joanne & Kevin at Vancouver’s beautiful Nitobe Garden. As photographers, it is an absolute joy to have visual stories like these get translated into prints. After many years of shooting digital, we like many of our clients still appreciate images showcased in premium pressbooks and albums. Weddings are just the perfect occasion. We’re definitely seeing a renaissance of sorts with printed materials here at VI. It’s simply classic don’t you think?

For those of you who have been following our works know just how much we love to incorporate the natural surroundings in our photoshoots. After all, we are located in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! This time we visited the tranquil peace of Nitobe Garden in UBC for a very beautiful and intimate wedding of Joanne and Kevin.Show me more please!»
OK it’s blog catching up time again! We love anything Italian! Maybe it’s the food. Maybe the little red cars from Maranello? Fashion designs… even their little Tuscan villages are cute. It’s that Italian flair. The way they pronounce simple things like photography (fotografia) or dried ham (prosciutto). Everything seems so dolce vita. But the true beauty is really the warmth and fun nature of Italian families which is so charming.
We had a fantastic time photographing Francine & Cam’s 25th Anniversary wedding vow renewal. It was a beautiful backyard garden affair at Francine’s sister’s home in Maple Ridge. Antonella and co. went all out designing a countryside motif. It felt like we were all transported to a cottage home in the Chianti region. Well with all things Italian, there are ALOT food. Hugs. More great food…sometimes followed by hand gestures about the weather (or recipe?). Then hugs again. ’nuff said let’s check out the PJ-esque photos!Show me more please!»
Tempus Fugit – Time Flies. And it sure did for us!
The velocity of 2012 has caught us by surprise considering our initial shoot started in the Spring. Then it all went warp speed through to end of the year. Arghh!!! And here we are already! The photo-shoots have brought us to many cool locations in the Vancouver region. This year took us to gorgeous coastal parklands in Burnaby, quaint farms in Maple Ridge and Langley, White Rock’s beaches and many others including an urban studio shoot in a concrete basement! But through it all, Anne and I have had the greatest pleasure to meet and connect with some really wonderful people.
Reflecting back this amazing year the one word that stood out is – relationships. When we first set out in our portrait business we always believe that images need to be authentic and relate-able. Our vision is to document relationships through our photography. Our Storybook Collection augments that vision in the form of fine-art albums. I supposed we must be doing something right as our storytelling photography work has been noticed by a major professional print house in the US!
We want to thank you for your support and encouragements. Anne and I truly appreciate you because you stood with us when we first birth Veritas Images and are still with us we continue to grow. Most of all we thank you for believing in our work. So without further ado as it was with last year, here are some highlights of 2012! Or you can visit the full HD version!
Thank You & God Bless,
Alwin & Anne
